Project Progress Ltd Launches The Market’s First and Only Online

Solution For Complete PRINCE2™ Automation and Compliance

Online Collaborative Platform Provides Holistic View of Multiple Projects To Multiple Users and Organisations, Offered As A Utility Service On ASP Basis

Web-based project solutions specialist, Project Progress Ltd, today announced the launch of the ProjectprogressTM platform, the market’s first and only online solution for complete PRINCE2™ automation, offered as a utility service on a pay-as-you-go monthly basis.

Unlike project management tools, the Projectprogress platform provides an online collaborative platform to ensure full compliance of PRINCE2™. This includes a real time dashboard for the management of projects with multiple participants from multiple organisations on a permissions-based access with unprecedented levels of security. These elements are essential for ensuring simultaneous, comprehensive management of large complex projects adhered to the highest levels of compliance, auditing and security.

"Effectively managing a multiplicity of projects is simply impossible to do manually, even with the PRINCE2™ method," said Adam Smith, CEO of Project Progress Ltd. "The sheer size, scope, complexity and geographic distribution of project sites make it unfeasible to ever gain a big picture view, let alone avoid the traditional project management pitfalls. Our customers are typically seeing a 30 percent ROI in terms of time savings on managing large projects, which not only accelerates project delivery, but also helps to contain costs and manage risks. We believe risk not only needs to be properly managed, but it also needs to be continually assessed as projects move forward. By eliminating lack of access, and providing visibility, Projectprogress provides an automated solution that addresses all of these needs."

Projectprogress provides a prescriptive environment for PRINCE2™ compliance, imposing elements of control that prevent deviation and provide complete visibility up and downthe value chain. By providing a holistic view of multiple projects to multiple users and organisations, Projectprogress enables companies to direct their internal resources appropriately, eliminating wasted time, resources and money. The system’s Project Health Check flags every single element of data required for a project, including an ‘at a glance’ view of everything that’s completed and outstanding.

PRINCE, which stands for Projects in Controlled Environments, is a project management method covering the organisation, management and control of projects. PRINCE was first developed by the Central Computer and Telecommunications Agency, now part of the Office of Government Commerce, in 1989 as a UK Government standard for IT project management. Projectprogress delivers the PRINCE2™ method online.

"Government modernisation, combined with increasing legislation are forcing organisations to become more accountable, increase stakeholder value and rationalise costs," added Smith. "The ongoing skills shortage of accredited PRINCE 2 practitioners continues to place further pressure on existing project management initiatives, particularly in the public sector."

According to the Association of Project Managers, at the end of 2004, approximately 100,000 had taken the PRINCE2™ exam, of which 90,000 are based in the UK. This is a combined total of Practitioner and Foundation Levels. Furthermore, 20,000 people take PRINCE2™ exams pa, which averages around 700 people per week. The Association of Project Managers has 13,500 members and 240 corporate members with more than 40 Associated Training Organisations.
